As some of you already know, the BoD is going to have a special meeting to interview the applicants for the GM 1st (2011) position and hold an election while the interviews are fresh in our minds, as well as give the new GM elect to have the most possible time to work with the current staff and get up to speed; we did this primarily to avoid having 3-5 hours of interviews/debating clogging up our regular meetings where we are very time limited (we can only keep the Ann Arbor room until 5pm).
I have secured the White Lake Township meeting hall for our use on Sunday, August 15th starting at 3pm. We can keep the meeting room until fairly late (9 to 10pm) though we will certainly try to move things along as quickly as possible.
The address is 7500 Highland Rd (M-59), White Lake, Michigan, 48383.
While the meeting is open to the KGE membership, all members who choose to attend the meeting should be aware that at times the applicants will have issues or plans for their tenure as GM that shouldn't be shared with the general membership (spoilers, etc); at those times we will either clear the room, or, if there is a second smaller room available, adjourn ourselves to that room. It is my thought that there will be a period of each interview where the membership will be allowed to ask the applicants questions, or at the very least submit questions to the Board members and have them ask the questions, though since I don't run the meetings, I am not sure exactly what Tim's plans are - i will try to have him comment here on what the members can expect.

Greetings,
The CBD staff would like to offer a limited-time opportunity to take part in playtesting some possible upcoming changes in policy. For this upcoming June 2010 Weeklong, all players will have access to multiple Player Characters (PCs) for the duration of the event. Each PC must have an obvious distinction (garb, mannerisms, etc) and must be approved by both the GM and CBD staff, in conjunction with the proper quality atmosphere and continuity we're looking to maintain for Kanar.
All feedback will of course be appreciated, as we the staff are ready to go ahead with this and are looking forward to seeing your response to this prospective change:
1. Base exp (6/day) will continue to be awarded for a single PC, noted on your signout for Weeklong.
2. Service points available to a player can be used on any PC in their file; if you wish to spend SP on more than one PC, you MUST make note of it in the proper section of the signout (for now, the comments section will suffice).
3. USE YOUR RESOURCES! The GM staff is almost always looking for character studies, and I'm sure they would appreciate more GM signouts that coincided with the direction they want to take the game. Remember, it's all about building atmosphere, and telling a story...
We are depending on our player base to determine if there is high enough demand for this for future events. Looking forward to seeing you this Weeklong!
peace, Dan Holland CBD 1st |
